Car Configurator – Unreal Engine Project

This project was created for my Materials, Lighting, and Presentation university module. Instead of focusing on modeling, my main tasks were lighting, materials, and presentation—and I decided to take on the challenge of building a fully working Car Configurator in Unreal Engine.

The model used here is credited to: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/porsche-911-with-interior-877b1bc1739f4a2bb65d62fd7ffd9f75

Features included:
1.Free navigation around the car
2.Changeable car body color and brake calipers
3.Ability to open/close doors
4.Toggle lights on and off

The goal was to create a studio lighting setup that would make the car look good from every angle, similar to real-world automotive photography. This was my first experience with Blueprints—challenging at first, but it became a big milestone as I developed a fully functional configurator through research and experimentation.

All still renders were created in Unreal Engine using Path Tracing, to achieve higher-quality and more realistic results.

A huge thank you to Michael Woods and Daniel Webster for their guidance throughout this module.
Special thanks to @Syuya Mukai, whose Blueprint resources provided valuable insights that helped me approach and solve technical challenges more effectively.

This project helped me develop practical skills in lighting, materials, and Blueprint scripting in Unreal Engine.
